These remedies can be taken orally ever day. After a few hours of treatment, people who are suffering from gout can already feel relief and after a few days, gout attacks will completely disappear.
There will also be instances where in the doctor may use colchicines when NSAID’s fails to relieve the symptoms of gout. It is very effective when administered within 12 hours of an acute gout attack. It can be taken orally every hour until the symptoms of gout disappeared. They can also be injected by the doctor directly to the vein. However, it can cause diarrhea when it is taken orally.
There will also be cases where in the doctor may prescribe oral colchicines or NSAID’s in small dosages every day to prevent the occurrence of gout. They can also prescribe medicines that are used to treat hyperuricemia like allopurinol (Zyloprim) and probenecid (Benemid). |
