Every single fashion is cyclical. That doesn’t just go for clothes fashions, but also all manner of different fashions from musical influences right through to the games we play. Currently, the fashion for toys is shifting away from the self-powered kind that have dominated stockings for almost a decade and back to those electrical gadgets controlled by remote control. From remote control helicopters to RC cars, they are all making a comeback and these types of electrical gadgets are looking to dominate the presents we buy this year. So why now have these seemingly archaic gizmos made a resurgence?
As we grow up, the things we liked as children fall out of favour as we associate them with immaturity. However, by the time we reach adulthood, we look back far more fondly on such things and anything that is perceived as retro will suddenly seem very attractive again. In turn, such items become popular again and a whole new generation get to experience them. The cycle then repeats again. The same principle applies to things such as RC cars.
However, gadgets have another reason to be making a comeback and technology is playing a big part. With ever increasing technological ability the scope for such electronic gadgets is growing all the time and the complexity of things such as remote control helicopters are now far more impressive than ever making them a very interesting proposition for people of any age.
Today, electronic gadgets look better than ever and far more can be achieved with them. The whole process of using such toys is not just about going up and down or back and forth but instead they can be controlled in far more interesting ways. So whilst older audiences might just enjoy the memories they bring back, every one else will simply just enjoy them as something with infinite potential. |
