U.S. Cellular set to launch Motorola Electrify

Its official! The U.S. Cellular has formally announced that it will be launching the Motorola Electrify within the next few weeks. The upcoming Android-powered smartphone from Motorola features a 4.3-inch qHD (Quarter High Definition) 540 x 960 touchscreen, an HDMI port and a kickstand for hands-free viewing of movies, TV shows and videos.

The Electrify, which is actually a rebranded version of Sprint Motorola Photon 4G, will go on sale for around $200 with a new two-year contract. The smartphone is supported by a dual 8-megapixel camera with dual LED camera flash on the rear to record video in 720p, and has a front facing VGA camera for video chat.

Edward Perez, vice president of sales and marketing operations for U.S. Cellular, said, “The ELECTRIFY is more than a “smart” phone.” Its multi-tasking capabilities make it the perfect personal assistant for customers who depend on their smartphone to meet the ever-changing needs of their busy lifestyles.

“Our commitment to providing a variety of devices that enhance customers lives is one of the reasons consumers who switch to U.S. Cellular join the happiest customers in wireless.”

The Motorola Electrify comes with the webtop software which will enable owners to turn the phone into a makeshift desktop computer by plugging it into an HD docking station.

For music storage or file photo, the Electrify comes with 16GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 48GB via a 32GB microSD card.

Some other features:- Other distinct features of Electrify include Adobe Flash 10.1 compatibility, QuickOffice document viewer, social networking sites, Google Mobile services and Android Market. The device also has HD 1080p game support, Stereo FM Radio, GPS navigation, Proximity Sensors, Digital Compass, Lithium-ion 1700 mAh battery, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
